Sorting on List Pages

For Aperio eSlide Manager locations with large numbers of users, eSlides, and specimens, it can be difficult to find the element you want to edit or view.

Quick Sort

You can click most column titles on any list page to sort the data by that column. Click once to sort in ascending order; click again to sort in descending order.

Multi-level Sort

To perform a more sophisticated sort:

  1. Click the Sort command at the top of the data list. This takes you to the Sort Columns window where you can select which columns to sort on. For example, you can sort a list of specimens by body site, and then within the results of that sort, you can sort on specimen procedure.

  2. On the Sort Columns window, to select the column on which to sort first, drag a column title from the Available pane to the Selected pane (or select a column title and use the < and > buttons to move it from one list to the other).

  3. Drag additional column titles to the Selected pane, and use the + and - buttons to select the order in which the columns will be sorted.

  4. Use the drop-down box on this page to select whether the data will be sorted in ascending or descending order.

  5. When you are satisfied with the arrangement of the sort columns, click Save to save your settings.

To search for specific column titles, start typing in the Search box at the top of the Available or Selected panes. As you type, the list of column titles is filtered so based on the characters you enter.
