When adding a new user or editing an existing one, you go to the User Details page.
The two main sections of this page are User Details and Effective Permissions.
The User Details section contains information on the user. If the Authentication Type selected for this user is LDAP, note that some of the fields in this section cannot be edited as they are maintained by the LDAP server. Options in this section include:
Clinical Viewing Mode - Selecting this check box tells Aperio eSlide Manager you want this user to use a streamlined subset of ImageScope tools that relate to clinical workflow, hiding general-purpose tools from the ImageScope toolbar that are not useful in a clinical setting. Note that the operator can override this setting on the My Settings page or from within ImageScope.
Disable license warnings - Selecting this check box tells Aperio eSlide Manager that you do not want this user to see any license warning messages (such as license expiration warnings)
The Effective Permissions section allows you to see what user groups this user is a member of, and what roles and data groups the user has been assigned to use. Most importantly, the section shows the effective permissions the user has inherited from user groups and user roles assigned to the user. When permissions assigned by different user groups and roles conflict, the user inherits the most permissive access. For more on this, see the Aperio eSlide Manager Administrator's Guide.
All operators who can create roles always have access to and can log in with the roles they create. To avoid the situation where these operators see a large list of roles from which to choose when logging in, the Hide check box allows the administrator to choose which user roles this operator will see on login. By default, the Hide check box is selected. See the Aperio eSlide Manager Administrator's Guide for more on this feature.
