If your Aperio eSlide Manager location is licensed for the Compliance module, the bottom pane in the System Settings window allows you to specify whether you wish to use compliance monitoring features by enabling data logging and e-signature settings.
To enable either data logging or e-signature, select the check box beside it.
To enable auditing user access to data, select the check box. (You must also edit the data tables to select which fields you want to audit access to.)
To disable a feature, clear the check box.
Administrators may optionally request that Aperio eSlide Manager operators supply a reason for a data change. This reason will appear in audit reports and will also appear at the top of the details page that was changed. To enable this feature, go to the Compliance section of the System Settings window.
For each data hierarchy, you can select whether an operator will:
Never be asked for a reason for change (Never)
Always be asked for a reason for change (Always)
Only be asked for a reason for change depending on the vocabulary item entered in the Status field. (Status Vocabulary Dependent) You must have defined a Status field vocabulary to use this option.
If the Status Vocabulary option is selected, the operator will not be prompted for reason for change during the initial setup of the case/project/course. Initial setup is defined as: the status field does not contain a value from the status vocabulary or it contains the first vocabulary item (which might be something like "Setup"). After the case/project/course is saved with the Status field containing a vocabulary item other than the first vocabulary item (such as "Ready for Review"), the case/project/course is considered set up and the operator is now prompted for a reason for change when he/she modifies the case/project/course.
After reasons for change are enabled, the Administrative menu now contains a new command Reasons for Change, which you will select to define the reasons the operator can select. (Operators can choose from the list or enter their own text.)
