Adding a TMA Core

A TMA core is the tissue sample that runs through a TMA paraffin block. You can think of the core as the location in the TMA block that will be associated with an image from a TMA slide when the slide is displayed. To add a TMA core, do the following:

  1. On the TMA Block List page, select a TMA block by clicking the check box beside it, then clicking Open Data or by clicking the icon  beside it.  The TMA Block Details page appears.

  2. Beneath the main TMA Block Details window pane, you will see the TMA image map.  Click on any of the segments in the map to highlight it.  This will display the TMA Core Details page.

  3. On this page, you can view or modify the following information:

  4. To assign the core to an existing specimen or create a new specimen and assign the core to it, click either Select or Create.

  5. After you have assigned the core to a specimen, the TMA Core Information page will appear with panels containing information about both the core and the specimen.  Click Save & Next to add and assign the core to additional specimens.

  6. Click Save when you have added and assigned all specimens to the TMA core.

  7. To return to the TMA Block Details page, click Open TMA Block.
