Adding an Annotation Template

To add an annotation template:

  1. Directly above the table listing existing templates, click Add.

  2. When the Add Annotation Template window appears, enter the name of the new template in the text field.

  3. Click Save to add the template without specifying layers or attributes OR click Add above the Template Layers table to add a new row in which you can specify the name of the layer, its attributes and the color in which to render it.

  4. To define the classes in this template, click Add in the Template Layers section. A new box appears in which you can type the name of the class.

  5. Keep clicking Add until you enter all the classes you want to use.

  6. If you want to add attributes to the class, click Add Attribute to Class.

  7. If you want to change the color with which tissue identified as belonging to the class will be displayed, click Choose Color.

  8. When finished with the template, click Save and it appears on the Annotations Templates page.

  9. If you add a template without specifying layers or attributes, you can do so at any time by clicking the Edit link beside the template name.

NOTE: When assigning colors to layers, choose those with enough contrast that they will be easy to tell apart.  Keep in mind which layers will be adjacent to or overlap each other an select colors for those that are easily distinguishable from the colors surrounding them.
